Safe & Compassionate Counseling

A capacity to maintain attentive, compassionate listening and to sit and work with difficult material that surfaces is honed by deep and focused professional training and practice.

The training and education that I received at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies were important factors in my professional development for integrating theoretical ideas of therapeutic action and learning to practice collaboratively with my clients.

I also credit my many years of Zen meditation and Iyengar Yoga practice for the development of a deep capacity to be present in the moments shared with the people that I work with. This experience and training, as well as my ongoing psychotherapy practice and the professional development activities that I participate in, form the foundation for my steady support and compassion for my clients’ work as they explore material that, while growth promoting, can be emotionally distressing.
