Fees & Insurance

Fees

Fees are variable - sliding scale is available according to factors we can discuss before meeting the first time. Recognizing that needs change, fees can be adjusted.

EMDR processing appointments are double sessions where possible. Session length and cost will be mutually determined before and during the EMDR therapy process.

A Good Faith Estimate will be provided.

Insurance

I participate with a few insurance companies including Aetna. If you are a member of a PPO plan with an insurance company I do not participate with, I will be happy to provide a “super bill” for submittal to your insurance company or your HSA.

Please check with me to see if I have openings in my Berkeley, CA in-person Mondays practice, or for my tele-therapy practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Note that insurance companies require that your therapy be for a “medically necessary” condition – that is, day to day functioning is distressed enough to warrant a diagnosis.

Notice

For clients and prospective clients

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
